Is it time to stop eating beef? Is my lawn bad for the environment? And what actually happens to the plastic bottles I throw in the recycling bin?
How to Save a Planet, hosted by marine biologist Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson and journalist Alex Blumberg, helps listeners understand the basics of climate change and solutions that could help shape a better future for everyone. Some episodes dig into the factors contributing to the climate crisis – fast fashion, for example, or harmful agricultural practices – while others highlight the powerful work of climate activists, scientists and innovators around the world. Regardless of the topic, each episode ends with at least one Call to Action, which provides listeners with simple, easy-to-tackle steps they can take to live more sustainably, push for climate-friendly policies and invite more people to join the movement.
Favorite episodes include Kelp Farming, for the Climate; Recycling! Is it BS?; The Tribe that’s Moving Earth (and Water) to Solve the Climate Crisis.
