Tree Equity Community Outreach Ambassadors (part-time)
Immediate openings.
EcoAction Arlington is hiring two to three Tree Equity Community Ambassadors. These ambassadors will work up to 20 hours a month year-round promoting free trees, Training will be provided. These non-exempt positions will be paid on an hourly basis with no benefits.
The Tree Equity Community Ambassadors will support the Outreach Manager at EcoAction Arlington. This role requires a dedicated and passionate candidate who enjoys working at the grassroots level to engage diverse groups. This role is critical in advancing our mission to increase tree canopy coverage in Arlington, with a particular focus on engaging communities with low canopy coverage.
You will…
- Canvas in Arlington neighborhoods.
- Cultivate relationships to engage stakeholders to support the Tree Canopy Equity Program.
- Establish relationships with civic association leaders.
- Track, compile and enter data on canvassing areas and client requests for trees.
- Attend community events to promote the Tree Canopy Equity Program.
We’re looking for someone with …
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in community engagement.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to plan, execute, and track progress effectively.
- Passion for environmental sustainability, equity, and community empowerment.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace Suite.
- Spanish-language skills are a plus.
Priority will be given to candidates residing in one of the 13 target neighborhoods of the EcoAction Arlington Tree Canopy Equity Program.
