The Arlington Chorale has partnered with EcoAction Arlington for their 2026-27 season, Dream With Us. The series kicks off on Saturday, October 24 at 5 p.m. with “For the Earth: Fauré’s Requiem.”
Arlington Chorale 2026-2027 Season Dream With Us Performances:
- October 24, 2026 – For the Earth: Fauré’s Requiem
- Excerpts from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons side by side with “The [Uncertain] Four Seasons,” a recomposition shaped by climate science that imagines our seasons at their most extreme. A movement from Alex Berko’s Sacred Place then leads into Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem, perhaps the most consoling requiem ever written, sung this evening for the earth itself.
- December 12, 2026 – All is Bright
- A jubilant Carol of the Bells medley and Jingle Bells with the prayer for peace of Oseh Shalom, Lo, How a Rose E’er Blooming, White Christmas, and Silent Night, Ola Gjeilo’s Dreamweaver.
- March 13, 2027 – After The Dark
- Excerpts from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons appear alongside The [Uncertain] Four Seasons, a recomposition shaped by climate science that imagines how our seasons may change. Then Elaine Hagenberg’s luminous Illuminare carries us out, a five-movement journey from shadow and uncertainty into clarity and peace.
- April 24, 2027 – Now We Begin
- The evening opens with Who Will Buy? from Oliver! and Bob Chilcott’s I Share Creation, celebrating the world we hold in common. Then, the Arlington Chorale’s commission: Dominick DiOrio’s Our Future Four Seasons springs from the words of local schoolchildren imagining what the seasons might yet become. The Arlington Chorale is joined by Vivace Children’s Chorus and the George Washington University Singers, three generations of voices on one stage.
All performances begin at 5PM at the Westover Baptist Church except the final performance 4/24/2027 which will be at National City Christian Church in Washington, DC.
A major project of this partnership is to activate and inspire our community to plant 60 trees this year in The Arlington Chorale’s name to commemorate their 60th anniversary! Anyone can be a part of this special anniversary project, no matter your location. There are easy ways for everyone to contribute: by planting a tree on your property, gifting a tree to a friend or family member, engaging your property manager or HOA to plant trees, or supporting efforts to plant trees at your place of worship.
Arlington Chorale members and staff will also be supporting EcoAction Arlington with two service projects to help us promote tree planting in our equity neighborhoods. EcoAction Arlington will have a table set up after the 10/24 performance with more information on tree planting. Read more about the partnership at https://www.arlingtonchorale.org/collaborations.
