Apply to Become an Energy Master Today!

July 31, 2015

Become an Energy Master!

Modeled after the successful master gardeners training program, the award-winning Energy Masters program trains corps of volunteers in energy efficiency and water conservation techniques and in community education and outreach. Once trained, volunteers contribute 40 hours of community service over the course of a year, at which point they become certified.

Our Impact

Since the program’s inception in 2011, we’ve trained more than 120 volunteers who have helped more than 480 families living in affordable housing buildings in Arlington to decrease their energy and water usage and improve the comfort of their homes.

This year, we are thrilled to expand our work into the City of Alexandria!

The Training Program

Six training sessions will be held on Wednesdays, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. between September 30th and November 4th.

Three tracks are available with different focus areas:

  • Energy Coach (community education and outreach)
  • Energy EcoAction Arlington (hands-on improvements)
  • Energy Master (community/outreach education and hands-on improvements)

Pathway available for high school and college students as well with reduced volunteer requirements.

Apply Today!

Applications accepted through September 15th, or until all spaces are full. Apply by August 30th and enjoy a $5 discount off the $65 registration fee.* A background check is required for all adult volunteers who participate in the program.**
