Ebike Program Coordinator (contact position)

The program coordinator will be hired as a contractor from January to May 2026 to support developing a new ebike maintenance and equipment program. This program will provide maintenance and equipment for low- and moderate-income participants who received an enhanced voucher in the recent Arlington County E-bike Voucher Program. Providing maintenance services and equipment will enhance participants’ success in using an e-bike as a viable, reliable, and safe transportation mechanism. The contract position is funded at $9,000 for 300 hours, and we anticipate it will require 100 hours per month in January and February and 33 hours per month from March through May. This position requires in-person visits to bike shops in Arlington and Alexandria with the ability to complete other tasks remotely.

You will

  • Communicate with bike shops and setting up contracts to provide maintenance and equipment.
  • Develop and implement an onboarding process for participants to sign up to participate in the program and receive benefits.
  • Produce a communications plan focused on engaging participants via email.
  • Develop a program evaluation plan for program participants and bike shops to gain information on program effectiveness, user insights and opportunities for future enhancements.
  • Develop a plan for a webinar to be organized at the conclusion of the program to disseminate information on the program model and lessons learned to the community.

We are looking for someone with…

  • Experience with communications, project management/evaluation, and contract development.
  • Outstanding organization skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and diplomatically address problems and issues using sound judgment.
  • A passion for sustainability.
  • Demonstrated computer skills and familiarity with the Google suite.

Bonus points for….

  • A background or passion for bicycling.

Tree Ambassadors (part-time)

EcoAction Arlington is managing a team of 6 to 7 Tree Ambassadors throughout the year. As positions on this team open, we will consider new applicants on a rolling basis. Priority will be given to candidates residing in Arlington County in one of the 13 target neighborhoods of the EcoAction Arlington Tree Canopy Equity Program and to candidates who have Spanish-language skills.

Tree ambassadors will work up to 20 hours a month year-round promoting free trees. Training will be provided. These non-exempt positions will be paid on an hourly basis with no benefits.

The Tree Ambassadors will support the Outreach Manager at EcoAction Arlington. This role requires a dedicated and passionate candidate who enjoys working at the grassroots level to engage diverse groups. This role is critical in advancing our mission to increase tree canopy coverage in Arlington, with a particular focus on engaging communities with low canopy coverage.

You will…

  • Canvas in Arlington neighborhoods
  • Cultivate relationships to engage stakeholders to support the Tree Canopy Equity Program
  • Establish relationships with civic association leaders
  • Track, compile and enter data on canvassing areas and client requests for trees
  • Attend community events to promote the Tree Canopy Equity Program

We’re looking for someone with …

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience in community engagement
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to plan, execute, and track progress  effectively
  • Passion for environmental sustainability, equity, and community empowerment
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace Suite
  • Spanish-language skills are a plus
