Join EcoAction Arlington on a Tour of the Arlington Trade Center

Posted on June 4, 2013

Ever wonder what happens to the waste that gets picked up at the curb, dropped off by residents, and collected from county street and sidewalk projects ? Here is your chance to find out!

EcoAction Arlington has arranged a special members only tour of the Arlington Trade Center, which recycles and reuses as much organic material as possible. It is at this facility where leaves become leaf mulch, brush becomes wood mulch, dirt becomes clean dirt/topsoil, and concrete/asphalt/brick becomes aggregate stone.

During the tour on Friday, June 7th, 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., you’ll learn about how the organic material that is collected is recycled in a closed-loop system. Depending on the activity at the time of the tour, we may even see equipment in operation.
